2025-26 Information

12U GIRLS & BOYS PROGRAM

IMPROVE YOUR SWIMMING & PLAY WATER POLO!

Many athletes are introduced to water polo at the 12U level, and each year we welcome a large number of new players to this group.

The only requirement is that participants must be able to swim safely in the deep end—typically this means being able to complete 2-4 continuous laps without stopping. If you’re new to the sport and unsure of your child’s swimming ability, please reach out so we can discuss and, if needed, arrange a swim evaluation (contact our Technical Director at td@vortexwaterpolo.ca).

Athletes in this group can choose between 2 or 3 practices per week, with formal competitions held several times a year (most games take place at Pan Am Pool).

As players gain strength and experience, they may be invited to move up to the 14U level to continue their development.

AGE

Athletes born in 2014-2015

TRAINING

2-3x/week for 1.5 to 2 Hour practices.

Everyone comes to Saturday morning plus Mondays and/or Thursdays.

COMPETITIONS

All athletes will participate in the MB Winter League and MB Provincials. These events provide valuable playing experience and are supported by the club, Manitoba Water Polo, and Sport Manitoba.

We may also attend out-of-town tournaments, which will be discussed with families as the season begins.

SESSIONS

Full Season: late September to the end of April

Spring Session: May-June (8-9 weeks)

Summer Program: July Practices and August Day Camp
