Build Your Fitness & Strength Plus Competitive Opportunities In & Out Of The Province
This season we are offering a 3x/week and a 4x/week program for 15U. The 4x/week program is called 15U+ and will prepare athletes for when they graduate into the 17U Competitive program.
The 15U+ program increases the frequency of practices to 4x/week and the overall training load. This will act as a bridge for the athletes who are in the competitive stream and are striving or considering to be in the 17U-19U Competitive Program (5x/week) in the near future.
15U Athletes will have the option to register for 3x/week (like last season) or the 15U+ which is 4x/week.
15U is for athletes born in 2009-2011*
*Athletes born in 2011 have the option and are encouraged to sign up for 15U. If you are not sure, please contact the Technical Director <td@vortexwaterpolo.ca>
**Athletes born in 2012 can also join 15U but only with approval from the Technical Director <td@vortexwaterpolo.ca>.
3-4x/week for 2-2.5 Hours/practice (on most weeks, please see next section)
All practices are at Pan Am Pool [25 Poseidon Bay, Winnipeg, MB].
Practices may occasionally change (time and location) or be cancelled throughout the season due to events (such as swim meets), holidays, or when coaches are away with other teams. When possible, we will always make an effort to organize other training opportunities when regular practices are cancelled.
The 15U Program runs from September 2023 to May 2024

No practices on holidays (e.g. National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving ...)

All competitions are an additional cost and are not included in the program fee.
All athletes will play in the MB Winter League and MB Provincials. These are excellent events to gain playing experience and the cost of playing in these events is covered by the club with support by Manitoba Water Polo and Sport Manitoba.
The following events may have a selection process as we anticipate more athletes than spots on the teams travelling. Attending these competitions is determined by the number of and level of play of our athletes. Competitions that are scheduled may be changed or cancelled at Vortex Water Polo's discretion.

Association Membership: At checkout, you will be charged $76.21 for a Water Polo Canada/Manitoba Water Polo Association annual Provincial Membership (membership is valid from Sep 2023 to Aug 2024). Please note that athletes who travel outside the province for competitions will need to upgrade their membership to Competitive which is an additional $25.53 (this can be done when you sign up for those trips).
