Compete against other clubs from across Canada
Striving for performance and being the best you can be at your sport as an individual and team. Local games are used for athlete and team development. Travel 3-5x/season to play other teams from across Canada.
These athletes are expected to show up to all the practices, games, events, work hard, be responsible, be a good teammate and have a growth mindset.*
Communicate with coaches when they cannot attend a practice or an event.

17U-19U is for athletes born in 2005-2009*
*Athletes born in 2009 can join this program but only with approval from the Technical Director <td@vortexwaterpolo.ca>.
5x/week for 2.5 Hours/practice (on most weeks, please see next section)
Practices are held at Pan Am Pool [25 Poseidon Bay, Winnipeg, MB].
Practices may occasionally change (time and location) or be cancelled throughout the season due to events (such as swim meets), holidays, or when coaches are away with other teams. When possible, we will always make an effort to organize additional training opportunities.
The 17U-19U Competitive Program runs from September 2023 to May 2024/Early June 2024
1st practice: Monday, September 11, 2023
Last practice of the Fall: Friday, December 22, 2023
1st practice in the new year: Monday, January 8, 2024
No practices on holidays (e.g. National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving ...)

All competitions are an additional cost and are not included in the program fee.
All athletes will play in the MB Winter League and MB Provincials. These are excellent events to gain playing experience and the cost of playing in these events is covered by the club with support by Manitoba Water Polo and Sport Manitoba.
The following events may have a selection process as we anticipate more athletes than spots on the teams travelling. Attending these competitions is determined by the number of and level of play of our athletes. Competitions that are scheduled may be changed or cancelled at Vortex Water Polo's discretion.

Association Membership: At checkout, you will be charged $101.74 for a Water Polo Canada/Manitoba Water Polo Association annual Competitive Membership (membership is valid from Sep 2023 to Aug 2024).
